Why Dr. Patel
For me, each patient is not just a number. My goal is to provide a tailored experience to achieve your personal health and wellness goals using the latest evidence-based therapies. Why don’t all doctors have the same success and provide the best experience?
Here are my top reasons:
-
Most patients are surprised that not all Urologists have the same level of training or use the best techniques. The simple desire to perform these highly specialized procedures, does not necessarily translate to a good outcome. For any surgery, it makes sense to seek out a true expert and do it right the first time. I have over a decade specialized training in urologic prosthetic surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and microsurgery. This allows me to use the most advanced and innovative techniques offered by less than 1% of Urologists worldwide to optimize your success and satisfaction.
-
Medical technology is one of the fastest growing areas in the tech industry. I am constantly evolving my surgical techniques to get the best outcomes. This means staying on top of the newest developments in surgery and incorporating new devices, instruments, and implants for precision care.
-
Generally, surgeons who see a larger volume of patients for a specific condition tend to have better outcomes, however, this should not compromise quality and attention to detail. I specifically limit the number of complex procedures I perform on a given day for this reason. This allows me to really focus on you and provide the best outcome.
-
I use the newest surgical microscope with an integrated 4K 3D robotic visualization platform for my microsurgical procedures (vasectomy reversals, testicular sperm extraction, varicocele repair, denervation, etc.). This provides me with unmatched visualization for nerves, blood vessels, and other important structures, minimizes time-consuming steps, and offers precise positioning. Together, this platform enables greater surgical certainty and prevents inadvertent damage to surrounding structures.

Outside of the attention to detail given at the time of your actual surgery, the time immediately after surgery is also important for your ultimate outcome. Although my surgeries are typically day-surgeries that do not require a hospital stay, I work to optimize your recovery in the comforts of your own home. I avoid narcotics for post-surgery pain and focus on anti-inflammatory and non-narcotic oral pain medications for pain relief. Additionally, I typically perform a series of local anesthetic injections, slow-release medications, and/or local pain relief systems to make your post-operative recovery as comfortable as possible.
